Travel Drama!

OMG dramarama. I woke up yesterday and I was feeling pretty sturdy and ready to go. Then I turned on the CBC. Ugh. That stupid volcano in Iceland was now spewing more stupidash on my life plans. I heard, to my dismay, that the cloud of ash was now causing cancellations to many flights into Spain and all flights from North America into Europe would be delayed so that the planes could fly around the ash.

Okay. I can deal with delay. Then they say that the cloud of ash was supposed to reach France by yesterday afternoon. Crap. As I'm flying into London then connecting to Nice I was panicking. I called PET Airport in Montreal and my flight was still as scheduled and so was my flight from London so I figured we must press on. And we did.

My dad picked up me and Jon and we started for Montreal. Of course, like it does every time I go to Montreal, it started raining. Not half assed raining, like downpour. Frustrating but not worth getting too upset over so again we pressed on.

Then I called the airport again and found out my flight, which was scheduled for 9:40 was now delayed until 00:20. Shit. But I could deal with that. I get to the airport, we check in, and wait in line to drop off our bags. This takes forever as people are rebooking their connecting flights. When I get to the front the lady politely takes me over to ANOTHER line where I wait to rebook my connection to Nice. I'm going to end up in Nice about 5 hours later than I thought, but I made a long distance and doubt expensive call to Walter's France cell phone and let him know.

The next part was probably the worst, waiting for my flight for like 4 hours. Thankfully British Airways gave us each a 10$ voucher for the airport and I could get some noms. Then on the plane I watched Book of Eli because I knew Tom Waits was in it. Not nearly enough to make it worth it. Should have watched Lovely Bones Oh well. Now I know.

Right now I@m sitting at my terminal at Heathrow. My flight to Nice leaves at 3:35 London time. Hopefully I'll have another chance to post soon!
