The Sundance Kid

It's raining. Sigh. I got a ticket to The Housemaid on the red carpet last night which would have been my third in a row, but my feet were tired of heels and I had no more dresses to wear. That sounds really snotty but it's the truth. I gave my ticket to a girl who hadn't seen any red carpet screenings yet and went to line up for Chatroom. In the end I didn't get into Chatroom but I heard that both it and The Housemaid weren't that great. And I met a great guy in line who writes for a movie website. All goodtimes.

Today I helped with a panel featuring Cam Archer and Robert David Mitchell, directors of Shit Year and Myth of the American Sleepover respectively. They were introduced by Col Needham the founder and president of Imdb. Which is pretty awesome.

After that the four PR interns for AmPav sat down for a private chat with John Cooper the Director of the Sundance Film Festival. It was so awesome to sit down with someone so high up in the business and talk so casually about the festival and the future of movies. That seems to be what a lot of people are talking about; the internet and the future of film in an internet oriented age.

While we were chatting someone (I heard it was a dog) had a seizure in the conference room so the second panel was almost delayed. Now it's pouring rain and I'm hesitating to run out to the Market to see some Canadian Films.

Oh, I'm also escorting Ellen Barkin into the greenroom before her panel tomorrow. Pretty sweet. She knows/met Tom Waits when they were working on Down by Law. At least I think/hope so.

Andy Serkis was around the British Pavilion earlier giving a talk but unfortunately I was working so I didn't get to go. But the Ellen Barkin thing will be neat too!!
By the way, if you read any of these posts and they have spelling errors, particularly weird ones, it's because I wrote it on my iPod. If there's photos, it's from the internet cafe in the Pavilion.

I'll post my France phone number soon. If anyone wants to text me it's free for me to receive. Ask me a question and I'll post a response on my blog. I'm not responsible for your international texting fees.

OH another something interesting. Apparently Matt Lauer was outed as having an affair the same day he opened the Pavilion. Huh. Life's funny that way.

ANYWAY

I'm going to see if the rain has slowed and then maybe try to see some movies.

Cheers!
