Don't Remake this with Jessica Alba. Please.

Days til Departure: 11

We've all seen The Ring. Well, if you haven't then you should! I actually enjoyed the film and I don't even like Naomi Watts. The Ring was directed by Gore Verbinski and is an Americanization of the film Ringu directed by Hideo Nakata which was based on a book. It's all very post-modern.

Hideo Nakata has a new film called Chatroom which is showing at Cannes this year. The film is about teenagers encouraging each other's bad behaviour online. Total Film spoke with 19-year-old Aaron Johnson (from Kick Ass, he's also that kid who apparently is marrying a 43 year old woman who is 7 months pregnant with his child).

It’s basically about these teenagers who are online. They talk on chatrooms and manipulate [each other] into committing suicide. They bully each-other online.

I'm really excited for this film. I LOVED Ringu. Cyberbullying was a hot button issue recently in the past few years with the MySpace suicide story. I put my trust in Nakata that the film won't end up as bad as the stupidity that was Pulse which apparently has two sequels. TWO!

I'd definitely say that this is one of the films I hope I can get a glimpse of or at least its director. Perhaps I should go see Kick Ass before I go so if I see Aaron Johnson I'll have something to talk to him about other than his fiancee.

Cheers! <3
